Founder of Onyx Gold, and founder of the company from which Onyx was spun out, HighGold Mining, Darwin Green has over 20 years of experience in the mineral deposit industry in USA, Canada and Latin America, with vast knowledge and a successful history in Alaska. He has a proven record of identifying opportunities, making discoveries and executing complex advanced exploration. His corporate credentials include involvement in multiple public financings and corporate transactions, negotiating option and joint venture agreements, and developing business opportunities.
Prior to HighGold, Mr. Green served as Vice President, Exploration for Constantine Metal Resources advancing the Alaska Palmer zinc/copper deposit to the Preliminary Economic Assessment stage. Prior to that, Mr. Green oversaw resource expansion and underground development programs at the Niblack deposit on Prince of Wales Island, for which he received the Commissioner’s Award for Project Excellence by the State of Alaska. Mr. Green drives the strategy, oversees the exploration processes and leads the business development and corporation marketing for HighGold. Mr. Green holds both a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in economic geology.
Mr. Colterjohn currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Onyx Gold. With over twelve years of experience in the resource sector, he possesses significant expertise in equity capital markets, mineral exploration, and production geology in Canada and Mexico. Mr. Colterjohn previously worked as a Mining Research Analyst at Cormark Securities, covering junior precious metals exploration and development companies, and as a Mining Equity Sales Specialist at Canaccord Genuity, where he raised over $2 billion for corporate mining clients. Prior to that, he worked as an exploration and production geologist at AuRico Gold and other exploration and development companies. Mr. Colterjohn holds an MBA in Global Mining Management from the Schulich School of Business and a B.Sc. in Geology from Dalhousie University.
Mike Cinnamond is currently Sr Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for B2Gold. Prior to B2Gold, Mr. Cinnamond was an audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he was the BC Resources Leader for the Mining, Forestry and Energy and Utilities practices. Mr. Cinnamond has 19 years of experience in the mining industry sector. Mr. Cinnamond is currently a director of the Canadian Institute of Mining and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC. Mr. Cinnamond has also served as an independent director for HighGold Mining since its inception in 2019.
Gwen Preston is a well-known and respected resource writer, commentator and speaker who draws on her many years of experience in analyzing junior mining stocks. Prior to 2014, when she began her weekly junior mining focused, subscription-based newsletter, ‘Resource Maven’, Ms. Preston worked as a writer for the Northern Miner newspaper and, intermittently, as a ghost writer for Marin Katusa at Casey Research. With the objective of seeking out junior mining investments with standout potential for those who subscribe to her newsletter, Ms. Preston has gained a deep understanding of what makes a company successful and how that information can be used for investors as they create their individual investment plan. In addition to the “Resource Maven”, Ms. Preston writes several other newsletters, including one focused on financial opportunities and another on the ‘green transition’.
Ms. Preston, who is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, has a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Master’s degree in Journalism.
Kiran Patankar is a senior mining executive with an extensive public company leadership, investment banking and capital markets background and a diverse financial, technical, and strategic skill set. He is currently the President, Chief Executive Officer and Director, of Maple Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX-V: MGM). Mr. Patankar was previously President, CEO and a Director of two TSX-V listed gold exploration and development companies, where he led growth initiatives and orchestrated successful company turnarounds. As an investment banker with leading Canadian and global financial institutions, he worked exclusively with mining companies on strategic corporate matters and executed M&A and corporate finance transactions totaling more than $3 billion in value. Mr. Patankar holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
